The Roman God of War, Mars – represented the Warlike Ethos of Ancient Rome. He is portrayed as a Warrior. Fully Armored and equipped, his Shield or Ancile is a well known Plot device in many Ancient Roman Fables and Myths. Forged under order of The God Zeus, The Ancile of Mars could only be hefted by him. No mere mortal could pick it up. However, if a Mortal was born of both Human and God Linage, they would have no issue lifting it. The Anciles could give Mars invisibility. It could also never be lost on the Battlefield, as it would always seek out it's Master. Similar designs based on Mars' Anciles were made and given to Roman Generals as Gifts or Tribunes upon Retirement.
