''The Amityville Horror'' (1979)

A classic Horror Film based on the 1977 book by American Writer Jay Anson it was a successful 1979 film (with remake in 2013). The book and movie, were based upon an apparent haunted house located in Amityville, Long Island (NY/US). According to the owners, the House was the scene of a horrific murder of the previous Owner's Family. That, coupled with legends of the grounds once being used for both containment of insane Native Americans as well as Colonial witchcraft all turned the home into a vortex of evil. The films were very popular in the 1970s and lead to MANY spin-offs (many having nothing to do with the actual haunting). Hotly debated in later years as being a hoax many still claim the house (with it's now iconic front facade) is in fact home to multiple demons. The house had been owned many times since the murders and later hauntings. These people have not reported anything paranormal citing their eventual moving on the scores of people who disturb them, all trying to see the House .
