The Algerian Incident

The Algerian War of 1954 to 1962 was a Colonial French Conflict with featured France's famed Foreign Legion. It was at a Forward Base Camp near Bouamama, Algeria that a Company of Legionnaires experienced ''something'' that none of them had ever seen. It was March, 1958. A rather ''Black Night'', with Moon and little stars Sentries noticed a ''strange noise'' coming from The Desert. It sounded very much as One was blowing ''air over a bottleneck''. The sound grew ''quite loud'' and alerted The Company (many of which stood to ''battle stations''). Suddenly, a ''Large, glowing Disc shaped Object'' suddenly just ''appeared'' in the Desert in front of The Legionnaires position.

Estimated to be roughly 1000-feet in diameter, the massive Object began to emit a ''Green Glow'' (pulsating). The Craft made to forward movements towards The Company. It simply ''hovered''. Orders were given to ''fire upon The Object, if it came to within 500-yards of Company positions''. This was an order that was going to be hard to follow for all Legionnaires ''watching the spectacle'' were in slack-jawed amazement. After 45-minutes, The Craft as mysteriously as it ''appeared'' simply ''winked out'' (as well as the unusual noise). Well investigated by Superiors, the Event was written off to ''Combat Stress''.
