The 27 Club

A modern Urban Legend, The ‘’27 Club’’ deals with certain ‘’wildly talented’’ Musicians of celebrity status who all died at the age of 27 years (by Their own hand). Beginning with such Legends as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison (between 1969 and 1971), these celebrity deaths were meshed into a mythos still believed in today. Other later Musicians (and some prior to 1969) were also added over time. And although some assign some form of curse to those inducted into the infamous Club is present (with drug and alcohol use being the motivator), many following Stars of renowned talents died slightly before or after their 27th birthday. Seen as coincidence, many still and propagate the ‘’Curse of The 27 Club’’ today.
