Of Estonian (European) origins, ''Tharapita'' was a Pagan Deity – seen akin to ''Thor'' (Norse). The strange ''God'' was known to attack other Pagan Idols and Icons – even giving battle to the various Gods and Goddesses. When Christianity took hold in Estonia, the Early Church did not ''vilify'' Tharapita, but adapted His ''Legend'' as being a proponent of Christ, who destroyed all ''False Gods''.
