The Inuit Peoples are Native Americans indicative to Alaska, Greenland and Canada. An ancient Tribe, they have (as we have seen), told amazing stories of even more amazing creatures. In most cases, as with all primitive cultures, their mythical beasties were used to emphasis a point or prove as a cautionary tale particularly when dealing with the very real natural forces of their at times, hostile environment. One such Beast was The Tariaksug. This hybrid, composite creature was said to roam the frozen ice tundras of The Great North. They were half-human and half-caribou. Children were warned to always stay close to camp and avoid wandering off too far from home, lest The Tariaksug would swoop down and snatch them up. Some Tribal stories give them wings, while other give them great speed. The Tariaksug lived in a quasi-dimension between The Living and The Dead, and it was here that they would take their captured children. Never seen again, it was assumed that they were devoured. However, a useful trick in surviving an encounter with a Tariaksug, was to remain still and out of their direct line of sight. Tariaksug you see, have no peripheral vision!
