‘’Tapio’’ was a Finnish Pagan God of The Forest and The Hunt – married to the aforementioned ‘’Mielikki’’, he too was concerned with over hunting and the protection of Forest animals. Prior to a Hunt, Hunters made an offering of nuts and berries to Tapio to ensure a ‘’good hunt’’. It was said that He monitored Hunters, disguised as a Tree (so as not to be seen).
