A Goddess of Carthage (an Independent Greek Nation), ''Tanit'' and Her Cult dates to the 8th Century BC. A ''Goddess of War'', She can be traced to Ancient Egyptian and Middle Eastern links, meaning Tanit may have been an ''adoptive'' Deity. Rome too would take Her into their Beliefs after their destruction of Carthage around 146 BC.
