 These are Ancient Greece Witches. Having the ability to shapeshift into great Owls, they were known to fly at night and prey on the blood of infants. Their Mythos carried on into Ancient Rome, as well. The Strix were also known to eat the internal organs of their victims. It was said that if one can learn the name of a Strix, it can be used against it to stop it's attacks. They can be placated if one leaves out a plate of bacon and beans.
