An ''Early Christian'' Martyr – ''Expeditus'' was said to have been a Roman Soldier (Non-Commissioned Officer), who was converted to Christianity around the 4th Century AD. Further, as His Legend goes, Expeditus was tempted by a Black Crow (who was The Devil), into denying His Christianity (in order to save Himself from death as a Traitor to Rome). Expeditus crushed the head of The Crow beneath His feet. Shown as a form of ''faith and determination of belief'', Expeditus' conversion would still cause Him to come under Roman Law. Given the choice to renounce His new-found Religion, He refused. He was beheaded. While St. Expeditus Cult is long since inactivem He was seen as Patron of Emergency Situations. His portrayal in Art is that of a Roman Soldier, with a Crow crushed beneath His foot.
