Dating to the 7th Century AD – ''Dymphna'' was a 14-year old Roman Girl who became a Christian and vowed Her Chasity to God. A Nobleman's Daughter, Her Father's goal was to marry Her off into wealth (as a means of increasing His Family stature). A King was selected from another Allied Land to Rome to be Her betrothed. Ordered to marry, Dymphna refused – citing Her new found Faith and vow. This drove Her Father mad (insane) with anger against His Child. In fact, when given a final warning, He cut off Her head, rather than face the shame of His rueful Child. Made a ''Saint '' in the mid-14th Century AD, Dymphna is still venerated in parts of The World. She is seen as Patron of The Mentally Ill, Emotional Disorders, Sexual Assault and many other ''disorders''. She was also invoked often during Exorcisms in the 16th Century.
