Sprites were closely associated with "Elemental" Spirits. Seen in many Countries Myth and Legend, they also have many guises (from "pleasant" to "fearsome"). Likened to Ghosts and Fairies, Sprites are often Guardians of Earth, Water, Fire and Air. They protect woodland and creatures from greedy Hunters. Sprites can be benevolent or violent towards humans (depending on the particular species involved). They can also be associated with certain curses. Mostly feminine by nature, there are male Sprites. They are closely associated with sexually proclivity towards human females.
