In Romanian Culture, A Spiridus is a Spirit (sometimes taking the form of a Bird, but most often invisible). They are related to Sorcery and forms of Conjuring and are similar to a Witches Familiar. These Demons are Servants to their Human Masters and are used to communicate directly with The Devil and those who summon a Spiridus. In some Regions, a stylized Mask is created and used as a Talisman to ward off any errant Spiridus ''lurking'' thru the Countryside. These Masks are made to resemble the Western personification of The Devil (with long nose and Red Face). They are hung somewhere in the house (but most often near a Front Door, to protect the entrance from a Spiridus).
