A Classic American Universal Studio ''Monster'' reborn, 1939s ''Son of Frankenstein'' was the sequel film to ''The Bride of Frankenstein'' and featured The ''Godfather of Horror Movies'', Boris Karloff. This was also the last time The ''Uncanny Karloff'' would play His signature role as Frankenstein's Monster. Originally planned to be filmed in color, Studio budget concerns ended these plans and Black and White filming was maintained. The Plot centers around good ole Dr. Frankenstein and His quest to create Life. This time, it is the Son of the original Doctor who picks up were Dad left off. Coming to the somewhat ruined Family Castle and Laboratory, The Doc is not popular due to His Family name. Studying His Father's notes, The Doc discovers the body of His Father's original creation (buried in The Family Crypt). Damaged, but repairable, The Doc begins to revive The Monster. Still having an unstable brain, The Monster starts on His old habits of destruction and death. In a climatic battle with The Doc, The Monster is pushed into a Sulfur Pit (under The Lab and used as a power source) burning The Monster up. Still Classic Acting and Horror, ''Son of Frankenstein'' is well worth 100-minutes of your time.
