A common Talisman still found in use in several Mesopotamian (Gnostic) Cultures – The ‘’Skandola’’ is a form of ‘’protective imagery’’. Used to ‘’ward off’’ Evil and Malcontent, The Skandola is commonly given to a recent Bridegroom. The circular artifact features four ‘’mystical animals’’ in Mandaean Religious Beliefs. These are: The Lion, The Scorpion, A Snake and a Wasp (or Hornet). Each of these ‘’Beasts’’ are Guardians in ‘’The World of Darkness’’ (which, as we have seen in Mandaean Religion – a version of Hades and Limbo, combined). Some associate The Skandola as being akin to using ‘’Evil to Fight Evil’’.
