In Buddhist Belief, ''Skanda'' is considered a ''Protective Guardian'' Deity (and one of 24 such ''Celestial Beings''. These Entities were responsible for maintaining order in The Universe and the instruction of Mankind in achieving ''Spiritual Perfection'' or ''Enlightenment''. Skanda was chosen to Guard those Rulers who may be ''tempted'' by Evil Demons, bent on ''confusing The Path to Justice and Spirituality''.
