Sassabonsam

A common piece of Mythology found among many Tribes in West Africa, is The Sassabonsam. This Creature is akin to many related Vampire Myths found in Europe. The Creature is said to be an ‘’Evil Spirit'’ (having never been Human) – and thus, has no Soul. The Sassabonsam is said to resemble a ‘’Humanoid, with elongated facial features’’. The Creatures have long arms and legs with ‘’Hook-like claws’’ (very much as a ‘’real’’ Flying Rodent). The Monsters live in the highest of Trees, and are known to ‘’drop down on Their Prey, gliding – as it were). Once captured, The Creatures wrap their massive wings around The Victim, slowly suffocating Them as they drain them of their blood. Most Folklorists cite The Sassabonsam is a stretch on some form of Giant Bat, perhaps. Regardless, many Traditionalists still say They are still ‘’Around’’……….
