The Ancient Belief in The ''Sampo'' is a Finnish Mythos of various origins. This was said to be a Device used by Forgemen (Blacksmiths), which was used to produce ''magical objects''. These iron implements could be just about anything, according to Legend. The Sampo was much protected by it's Blacksmith Owner. In most Tales relating to a Sampo – a Thief steals it. As such, both The Blacksmith and His Village will have very bad luck and related disasters until it is retrieved. The ''Sampo'' Mythos ''migrated'' throughout Europe and into The Middle East, as well.
