In Japanese folklore, The Sakabashira was a lifeforce that was generated from a Home s central support beam. It was though that every house contained it s own Spirit that was influenced by the Owner (good or evil). It was important for the builders of the Home to properly install the support beam with the wood grains point downward instead of upwards. Doing so wrong could cause the physical manifestation of the beam known as The Sakabashira. Only seen at night, the Entity resembled small humanoid and luminous creatures, wandering around the beam in great confusion. This also meant that misfortune could befall the Home s Resident s until the beam was properly installed.
