Much like the mythos associated with ‘’Werewolves’’, The Rougarou is an American transplanted ‘’Cousin’’. Although many variations on the name are known – The Rougarou legend came with French Settlers to both Canada and ‘’French America’’ – or Louisiana. This Creature is Humanoid in appearance, save being covered in fur, clawed and mostly having the head of a Dog (which was the possible genesis for the later Wolfen appearance). Living in the Swamps and Bayou’s of Louisiana, The Rougarou was ‘’credited’’ with attacking wayward cattle, horses and of course – travelers. And while One can assign these attacks to virtually any OTHER type of animal (or even Human), The Rougarou would remain a staple folklore ‘’Beastie’’ for generations.
