Seen in The Ancient Middle East, The Roc was a large Bird of Prey. With a wing span of 50 feet, these monster Raptors, lived in the high mountain. Their eggs were said to be enormous as well, - taking 25 men just to move one. Rocs would terrorize cattle and other herd animals (as their source of food). Documented as early as the 8th century, their legend endured (and was told to many European Crusaders). Roc's featured into many of the writings and fables of The Middle East (including The Arabian Nights tales). So much so, that many 18th and 19th Century expeditions were led to try and find proof of their existence. Humans were also often taken as food for Roc babies. Their blood was said to have magical "curative" powers. They could be killed by ordinary weapons.
