Nearly every American Town has this story entwined in it's Urban Legend . The story of Resurrection Mary goes as such. Some time ago, a young man was driving down a State Route (which is an off traveled side road, mostly forgotten when bigger Highways are built). He noticed a very pretty girl hitchhiking on the side of the road. He stops to give the girl a ride. She claims her name is Mary , and she lives nearby. After some prompting, the man gets Mary to agree to go into Town for lunch. The 2 spend a fun time together. They have lunch, go to the movies etc. As it gets late, Mary asks to be taken home. Our hero drives Mary back down the same road, asking to be let out in the middle of nowhere . Oddly asking why, our boy is told by Mary that she lives just beyond those trees there. (pointing outwards). Okay, the man let's Mary out and says he hopes he will see her again. Mary doesn't say another word, exits the car and walks into the tree line. After several days, our boy is traveling down the same road (hoping to catch Mary). He see's and old woman walking into the trees (near where he let Mary out). Thinking it may be a relative, he stops and follows the old woman through the woods.
Suddenly, the boy finds himself in front of a Cemetery! Perplexed, the boy calls over to the old woman (placing flowers on a grave). He tells the woman his story. Equally perplexed, the old woman asks what this young girl looks like. With her description the old woman states that can't be, young man..your just described my daughter Mary. She was killed by a speeding driver on this very road out front of the Cemetery! Shocked and stunned, the boy leaves. Several months go by. Once again driving down the same road, our guy see's his new friend Mary. She is walking down the road (wearing the same clothes). She smiles and waves at out hero . He Keeps Driving On!
