From Norse Mythos, The Ra were a ''Race'' of ''Elemental'' Spirits who guarded and protected a specific location. Normally placed by The Gods to protect Nature (especially from over killing animals and deforesting), The Ra was seen as a very important part of worship among The Norse Peoples. Often, when a Hunter or Woodsman entered a Forest, they had to make an offering to The Ra (mostly food or drink). Once offered, The Hunter was then ''allowed'' to begin His trek. If no offering was made, The Hunter or Woodsman would catch no food or find usable wood. The Ra is described as both Male and Female in appearance. Small (4-feet in some Sagas), they often cannot be seen by Humans, until they so wish it. Some Norse Tales give a variation of The Ra as being malevolent and only tolerant of Human Beings (using them for their offerings of food and drink).
