Linked to The Arthur Legend, The “Questing Beast”, this was a “strange Beast” which was composed of several other “Monsters”. These were Snake, Lion, Leopard and Deer. They were massive Beasts that were highly dangerous. They sounded like a Pack of “howling Dogs” when they “roared”. Living in the deep Forest, Arthur gave several of his Knights the Quest of killing such Beasts as means of proving their “worth” as Knights. Many think that Arthur had The Magician Merlin “created” The Questing Beast. Another Myth states that a Princess “lusted” after her Brother and was turned into a Questing Beast by Merlin, upon request of The Princess' enraged Father. Later in Medieval England and France, The Questing Beast was seen as a symbol of “Lust and Incest”. It was also used as part of The Heraldic Beast symbolism in Heraldry.
