Dating to (the earliest examples) the 3rd Century AD – The Purana are a form of literature common in Hinduism, and are used to compile Legends and Myths of The Gods. They were arranged on narrow palm-leafs, sometimes affixed to wooden plates and written in the script of the Region. The Purana is normally arranged into sections, dealing with Astronomy, Gods and Goddesses, Stories dealing with the aforementioned interaction with Humankind and specific prayers. Some Purana also outline the Royal linage of Hindu Kings and Queens. Some examples have been preserved (mostly in Temples).
