Psychonautics

A relatively ''Modern Term'' used to describe a relatively Ancient Belief – ''Psychonautics'' is a descriptive used to identify a ''merger'' of the use of Deep Meditative Practices and various psychotrophic substances, to produce a separate ''altered'' State of ''Awareness''. Many Cultures gave practiced (and still do to some degree) Psychonautics. Native American and African Shaman and Medicine Men use Peyote (Species of Cactus). To achieve certain levels of ''inner sight''. Ayehausca (as previously mentioned), is another classic example. Many Traditionalists of Religions cite that the use of such procedures to ''enhance'' One's ''communion with God'' (or The Gods), is suspect and Evil. However, many such historical experiences have shown that those who experience the various Rituals have taken away from them ''great insight''. Persons who ''traverse'' such experiences are known collectively and in Modern terms as ''Psychonauts''.
