Project: Grudge was established prior to Blue Book in 1949. The main goal of Grudge was to determine If the need for a Formal Committee was needed to investigate the phenomenon just recently dubbed Flying Saucers . Determined that most of the sightings and reported were IFOs (Identified Flying Objects , Project: Grudge was more concerned with controlling The Roswell Incident (which had occurred just 2 years prior. That incident resulted in a National Newspaper printing (with Government permission) the story of an ACTUAL crash and recovery of wreckage. Because nothing of this nature had been dealt with prior, it was determined Grudge was needed to formulate future possibilities. With the growing sightings and reports, came too much possible contamination and leaks of sensitive material. It was The Grudge findings that initiated Project: Blue Book".
