Prapti

The Prapti is a type of Bhoot (Ghost) in Bengali Culture – which has a rather unscrupulous origin story. These are said to be Spirits of Girls who had ''more than one'' Lover. Unable to decide on which – The Legend states that the ''first'' Prapti killed Herself. As such, Her Spirit could not rest without EITHER love. The Prapti began to haunt both Men, eventually driving them insane and killing themselves. These ''Men'' too, become Prapti, but they are NOT reunited with their ''Lost Love''. Once the act is ''done'', The Female form of The Prapti is thus freed and ''goes on''. The Male version are forever cursed to wander The Earth in Misery.
