An important work from 1563 and The Netherlands – The ‘’Praestigiis Daemonum’’ was compiled by Johann Weyer, a Medical Doctor who felt that much of the hysteria surrounding Witchcraft and Demons – was more ‘’psychological’’ than ‘’supernatural’’. Controversial in His views (which attacked The Church for ‘’feeding into’’ and propagating such beliefs among The Poor), actually was seen by modern psychologists as being a foundation for mental evaluations regarding such beliefs. Weyer’s work would actually help establish many Laws that abolished ‘’Witchcraft Trials’’ in most European Nations.
