Developed among various Afro-Brazilian Cultures (former African and Caribbean Slaves), ''Pomba Gira'' was a Deity (Loa) believed in many Folk Magic circles. A ''Messenger of The Gods'', She ''protects'' those who invoke Magic, practice Witchcraft and from ''harmful'' Demonic Possessions. Pomba Gira's earlier personification is vague – but with the influx of Catholic Christianity, She was transformed into an Icon. Shown most often as a ''beautiful Woman'', She is seen as ''Royalty'' among other Loas (Spirits). Those so possessed by Her ''Spirit'' are said to be somewhat ''vulgar and sexually open''. This is said to be due to the loss of Pomba Gira's ''sensations'' no longer being needed as a Loa (but possibly missed). Spiritual possession give Her the ability to ''experience'' such, in return for Her ''power''.
