In Estonian Mythology, The God ''Pikne'' was associated with ''Thunder''. Akin to The Norse belief in ''Thor'' – Pikne was venerated by Pagan Priests who made animal sacrifice. He was also Patron to The River Vohandu (seen as Sacred). People who built Mills along The River – were ''punished'' by Pikne, who in turn allowed no rain to fall. This meant little to no harvest and no food. The usage of wooden flutes, blown by Farmers, was another means of both appeasing Pikne (as well as summoning Him). With the advent of Christianity, His Cult would vanish.
