The ''Pholus'' as an Ancient Greek mythological Being, related to The Centaur (or Half-Human, Half Horse). Pholus was a Being of ''great wisdom'' who lived on the Isle of Pelion. He was a friend to the legendary Demi-God, Hercules. Killed by a poison meant for The Hero, he died. Later in Literature, Dante ''borrowed'' Phontus as a ''Soul'' who patrolled along the banks of a river near The 7th Circle of Hell.
