Pha Trelgen Changchup Sempa

The Tibetans have a very ancient Mythology, which is relative to China. One Deity (perhaps based on several Chinese Deities), is ''Pha Trelgen Changchup Sempa'', or the ''Monkey Ancestor'' oif The Tibetan People. Simians, especially white furred Monkeys, were seen as ''Wisdom incarnate'' and a ''Divine Message'' of The Gods. Therefore, The Sempa Legend was seen as the ''origin story'' for Tibetan Culture. Placed on Earth by The Great Lord Creator, The Sempa would eventually lose their fur and tails and ''evolve'' into Man. Gifted with ''Wisdom and Knowledge'', these traits were seen as relative to The Sempa.
