The ''Petra'' is a form of ''Wrath Spirit'' common to Chinese and Vietnamese Myth. They are associated (in Type) with the infamous Japanese ''Yokai''. Also known as ''Hungry Ghosts'', The Petra do not have to be Human. As with most Asian Legends regarding Spirits, sometimes Nature or even inanimate Objects can exude a ''Petra Spirit''. In such cases, The Object becomes infused with ''bad emotions'' or can ''soak up'' evilness generated by Humankind. With regards to Human ''Petra'' manifestations, these were People who were evil or greedy in life. This ''energy'' becomes a Petra after death (as opposed to an actual Spirit Being). They are portrayed as being quite ''horrible'' in appearance often smelling of feces or urine. They are ''seen'' (or experienced) at night. Some cultures have The Petra as being totally invisible to the Human eye (only their ''odor'' is perceived). As a form of ''Divine punishment'', Petra cannot consume food. Should they try, it will burst into flames (either while they consume it or in their stomach). This is another reason for The Petra's often ''angry tempers''. Seen more as ''annoying'', some Petra's are attracted to Human Blood. This makes them more of a problem (assuming an almost vampiric guise). It often takes a powerful Shaman or Priest to rid one of a ''bloodthirsty'' Petra.
