Filipino Mythos is full of strange and terrible creatures capable of separating themselves into two pieces (normally a torso and legs to waist). Most often, this trait is common with many vampiric myths within the Country. The Penanggalan is one such. Generally seen as a female human head, it s visera is the only thing that can bee seen, hanging below this ghastly floating head! The Penanggalan can turn invisible when it is time to feed, lapping up human blood created by it sharp teeth. They prefer newborns. If one were to touch their exposed organs, horrible sores would erupt on the victim where it was touched. It was said to avoid them, one must keep one s doors and windows locked at night until such time as the newborn was at least 1 year old.
