The Northern India Peoples known as The Meitei, have a Mythos about a Cult dating to perhaps the 3rd Century AD. It involves ''Pakhangba''. He was a reputed ''Dragon-Snake God'', seen as a Supreme Creator Deity. Pakhangba could assume any form needed. This meant that The Meitei had to be very careful to not ''offend Nature'' and take care about hunting and fishing (as it may be Their God). The long lasting Cult believed that by ''feeding'' the blood of Their Enemies to a Shrine/Icon of Pakhangba, they would be rendered weak and be easily defeated in battle. During the 1891 Rebellion in Manipur against British Occupation and Rule, 5 British Officers were captured and executed by The Meitei (with their life's blood being used as stated). So enraged when learned, British Forces stormed The Palace at Imphal (where Pakhangba's Main Icon was) – and blew it and the majority of The Palace to bits. Rituals and Ceremonies were outlawed (for a time) as well. Pakhangba is still ''found'' today, as the main Symbolism on The National Flag and Heraldry of Manipur.
