Identified in most Ancient Greek Religious practices as The Physician of The Gods Paean (also known as Paeeon, Paieon and Paion), and his Legend derives from the 16th Century BC. Mentioned briefly in Homer s Illiad , Paean was Mortal who (due to his great knowledge of The Healing Arts), was taken to Mt. Olympus (The Home of The Gods), by Zeus. He made Paean immortal and tasked him with the care of The Gods. This was a bit of a confusion with followers , due to the fact that Gods were immortal and therefore not capable of normal ailments. It is assumed that Paean s Cult was a means of establishing Prayer to lose in need of Healing before or during Surgeries. He would be identified as a Patron of Physicians in Ancient Greece. Later, Paean was associated with The God Apollo, and was also credited with poor health, should he not be properly honored by those invoking his abilities.
