Oude Rude Oden

 From Belgium and Flanders, The Oude Rode Oden is akin to other Countries myth of The Boogeyman. It's legend seems to start around the 17th Century. They were described as a 7-foot pitch Black Man (or humanoid) with indistinct features. They were said to steal away children (and teenagers). It was said That The Ogen were used to get children to go to sleep (else The Ogen would come for them). The Ogen was also known to be a shapeshifter. They liked to appear as large black Dogs with glowing red eyes. This legend EVEN carried onward into the 20th Century, with the variant of being eaten alive , if a child did not listen to their parents!
