A popular ‘’Ghost Story’’ in Japan from the late 19th Century and early 20th – is The Tale of The ‘’Osabi Lights’’. These were two ‘’glowing balls’’ of ‘’light/fire’’ commonly seen in The Southern Regions of that Nation. As The Tale goes, two Old Women – who were wool spinners, were in constant competition. Despite this, one of the Women broke Her Spinner, Feeling sorry for Her, and having an extra – the other Woman lent Her one. After many months, Our ‘’Good Deed Doer’’ likewise broker Her Spinner. Going to the Woman who broke Hers originally, She asked for it back. The first Woman refused to return it and an argument and fight ensued. The arguing Women continued Their fray, unaware of a nearby cliff. They fell off – to Their death. However, as Legend goes, Their bodies were NEVER found. But very soon after, two ‘’glowing balls of light’’, were seen ‘’chasing each other’’ – as if in ‘’combat’’. Some say it was the Spirits of the two Women who – while fighting up to and including death – trapped Their negative energies. The two continued to argue for MANY years, but after a time, The Osabi Lights have stopped.
