During the early years of The Cold War, NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), regularly conducted Naval and Air Operations and readiness drills in The North Atlantic and Northern Europe. Operation: ''Mainbrace'' was initiated in September of 1952. Consisting of NATO Allies, around the Coasts of Norway and Denmark. Over 200 vessels, 1,000 Planes and close to 80,000 men were involved. Beginning on September 13th and lasting until the 28th, The NATO Fleet experienced sightings of strange Objects. The Objects (of which there were 4 different "types"), "buzzed" ships, chased Planes and were witnessed by hundreds of credible, trained observers.
Some Objects were described as "Triangle-shaped", which gave off a "glowing Blue" color. A "Group" of which "buzzed" The Danish Destroyer "Willemoes" at an estimated 900 mph. Another "Group" of "silvery, glowing Saucer-shaped Craft, over flew a Flight of British Fighters. Seen both day and night, the various Objects were allegedly photographed on numerous occasions, but they - as with all Official documents of the encounters are under "lock and key". The incident was investigated by Project: Blue Book. No official explanation was ever given (not even a Soviet "angle"). The Case came to Public knowledge during the enactment of The Freedom of Information Act (1974), in The US (but even this was small bits and pieces).
