''Obia''

 The Obia comes from West Africa. They are Servant Demons to Tribal Witches. They are large beasts that resemble no particular animal. They have short legs and claws and fangs. A Witch will have her Obia attack young girls in the night and steal their skin. The Obia can then pass for human (for a time). The story was first related to English Explorers around 1793. As a related story (with many Africans being stolen into slavery and transplanted to places like Haiti in The Caribbean) they transplanted this story into The Obleah Man . He is a supernatural being (neither good nor evil). His true form is said to be that of the Ancient Obia.
