Njambe

The Boloki of The Congo Region (Africa), have a Mythology regarding The Deity known as Njambe. He fits into their Creationist Tales, and is thousands of years old (oral tradition). Njambe is The God of Death and Sickness. He is also classed as a ''Trickster''. It was said, that He appeared to the ''First Man'' as a very ''small Human'', and offered two bundles. The first bundle was overflowing with hunting and farming tools. The second was tied and The First Man could not see inside. Njambe gave Him the choice of picking either. The First Man took the trinkets over the unknown bundle. Njambe revealed to The First Man that the second bundle held ''immortality''. Hence, Man cannot live forever – due to ''The Choice''.
