''Nat''

The ''Nat'' are Spirits found in Myanmar Culture and are thousands of years old. They are seen as ''Guardian Spirits'' that can be found in all facets of their Culture. The tradition of creating small wooden dolls, meant to ''house'' the spirit of The Nat can be found in many homes and businesses to this day. The dolls are often well embellished and decorated. Often the more elaborate The Nat Doll, the greater One has at protection and ''good fortune'' from a particular Nat. Nat Dolls are often seen as a form of worship similar to those Christian Religions that use statues (icons) to invoke a particular Saint or focus One's prayer.
