Mothman

 The Mothman is a legend in the Cryptid Community of researchers. It has been given both a Supernatural and Extraterrestrial background. Focusing around Point Pleasant, West Virginia (US) The Mothman is seen as a harbinger of doom (and warning). Described with many variations, Mothman is said to be a huge (10-foot tall), humanoid being that is part Human and part Insect (Moth). It has large wings (15-foot wingspan) and huge glowing eyes. Mothman communicates both telepathically and through mental imagery . Urban Legend states that The Mothmen are actually inter-dimensional beings called The Watchers (who have monitored human existence from it's beginnings). They know the past and future of Man and often try to warn man of impending disasters. Mothmen are sometimes seen as human-like beings (very similar to the iconic, and much feared Men in Black ). When they are in this appearance , they are often described as lacking defined facial features. The last well documented case of The Mothman was in West Virginia, where they predicted a major bridge collapse/failure that caused 25 lost lives in 1967 (people in cars plummeting to their watery death). A statute was erected to Mothman in Point Pleasant in 2002.
