Perhaps you have heard the ''Old Ditty'' known as ''Molly Malone''. It's a ''Ghostly Song'' about well...a Ghost. Popular in the 1880s in both Ireland and England (as a Pub Song), the sone tells the tale of a ''poor Fish Seller'' (Fishmonger), named Molly. She pushed Her Cart thru Town trying to sell Her wares (fresh Fish). Try as She might, She couldn't make a living of it. Working in ''rain and cold'', Molly would catch ''cold and die''. But Molly wasn't ''giving up The Ghost'. Her ''Spirit'' is still seen wandering thru The Streets of Dublin, Ireland – crying out ''Cockles and Mussels, Alive – Alive, Oh!'' Quaint, Huh. Now, some will say that there really WAS a Molly Malone, but She was a bit more ''colorful'' than being a simple Fishmonger. Some cite that Molly was also a ''freelance Prostitute'', who dressed to ''attract'' Customers. The selling of Fish was a ''side Hustle'' (as it were). But other claim that Molly really did die (of ''Consumption'') and Her Ghost is seen wandering thru the back alleys and Docks of Dublin. Many more state that the popular Pub Song did it's job as far as making The ''Legend of Molly Malone'' – immortal, one way or another.
