Not all ''Monsters and Fiends'' have fangs and claws as we have seen. Sometimes, ''Demons'' can take on quite ''normal'' appearances. Submitted – is one ''Annie Wilkes''. She was the main protagonist of Stephen Kings 1987 Horror-Thriller ''Misery'' (and latter 1990 Hit Film). Annie is a ''frumpy and dour Woman'' who is uninspiring and (at first) non-threatening. Living in the ''wilds'' of Colorado (US), the former Nurse has but two ''loves'' – Her Pet Pig and reading a series of Romance Novel;s featuring the fictional Female Character ''Misery Chastain''. The books Writer – a worldwide recognized personality is set to complete His series of ''Misery'' Novels (by killing off the title). He is injured in a car accident in the remote region of Colorado and ''found and nursed to health'' by Annie. In reality, Annie (being His ''Number One Fan'' – the movies catch phrase), orchestrated the car to kidnap The Writer. When Annie learns of Her beloved Character's demise, She sets about to torment and torture The Writer (who was severely crippled in the crash and incapable of escape) – into ''re-writing'' the ''ending''. The Film portrays several scenes of intense torture that are still ''cringe worthy'' 20 years later. The original Novel, ''fleshed out'' Annie Wilkes as being a long term Serial Killer – who would incorporate Her Medical knowledge into a kind of ''Angel of Death''. Her ''end'' is as shocking as Her methods of ''Control-Torture''. If you haven't seen ''Misery'' – watch it.
