From Ancient Norse (Viking) Myth, Midgard was said to have been an immense Sea Serpent-Dragon Beast. So large, Midgard (if stretched out), could encircle The World. Midgard's back scales , were often mistaken for small islands. Midgard was a hazard to Viking Shipping and Commerce. If a Norse ship did not return to Port, it was assumed that they fell prey to Midgard.
