''Merveilleuse'', The Sword of Ogier The Dane

The Blade “Merveilleuse” (and sometimes called “Corte'') was carried by the mythical Knight of Charlemagne known as Ogier The Dane. He is best known for his single combat with Saracen Warriors. Although unclear as to ''why'', Ogier eventually rebels against Charlemagne and hides out in Lombardy. Despite this, whenever Charlemagne called upon him to battle The Saracens – He came. Ogier is often portrayed as a “Sleeping Hero”, or Nne in “perpetual” sleep until He is called upon to defend his Nation (of which The Scandinavians adopted him due to his Norse (Dane) origins).
