A ''Nymph'' Class of early Greek Deity – ''Melinoe'' was the personification of both ''Nightmares'' and their resulting ''Insanity''. It was believed that continual ''bad dreams'' led to madness, of which Melinoe was responsible. She was later linked to the ''Persephone'' Cult (The Underworld).
