The symbolism of a ‘’Serpent’’ (sometimes depicted as a Dragon) – is ever present in many Mesoamerican Culture, in particular – The Mayans. These were portrayed in Temple Art as Deities relating to ‘’Creation’’ as well as ‘’Destruction’’. The concept of a ‘’Vision Serpent’’ was more related to the consumption of various elixirs to induce a type of ‘’spiritual connection’’ to The Gods. The most fervent hope of a Participant was to ‘’see’’ a Serpent (illusion). This ‘’Guide’’ – sent by The Gods themselves ensured One’s ‘’need for knowledge’’ or ‘’request’’ would be given or heard. Mostly, Priests and in some cases Sacrifices were privileged to ‘’see ‘’A Serpent’’.
